First job week after the vacation was terrible. On Monday I've been doing nothing for the first half of the day until our partner put me on to do some preliminary work for upcoming project in the field of machinery. I can't say that was interesting but for the rest of the week I've been devoted to much crappy work than that: reviewing of translators work. Well, I am very-very hoping that some of headhunters is going to make me interested with some hot job offers in the field of IB, but unfortunately feeling hopeful is the only thing I can do due to dead recruiting season. So I think that training my english and just waiting until September (the month when traditional recruiting season starts) will be the most suitable strategy in my case. I made presents for most of colleagues in our room, that was mostly postcards with some exciting views of sea as well as Paris. I also presented a little bottle of cognac and a souvenir magnet to my best pal at work. He thanked me and said that it was very pleasant. On Friday I almost finished with that crappy translation task, drank a bottle of beer and went home with an intention to watch some movie and go to bed afterward. But my plans have changed with the call of that friend from work who invited me to join him and his girlfriend at some cafe at B. Nikitskaya. I've decided that a couple of beer would not harm my health significantly and joined them. The place was quite good, I would characterize it like a place where art-intelligency set up their meetings. I didn't taste any food because I was not hungry and just drank some overpriced beer. Later we moved into some irish pub at Novy Arbat where I also drank some beer and went home. At home I found my flat-mate A. (btw, who is also one of my best friends) and the other our joint friend V. They have been drinking beer and didn't resist when I suggested to kill the bottle of rum that I had bought on my way back from Paris =). So, we spent the remainder of the night in philosophical conversations about nothing =). Just kind of traditional Russian "kitchen talk". Saturday's morning (about 2 p.m.) was awful: headache and other symptoms of hangover =). So, I got up, packed my luggage, had a lunch with friends and went to parents.
On my way to parents I watched the movie called "The house of 1000 corpes". I expected this film to be a real trash-movie with fake blood and other obligatory attributes of any b-movie and don't evoking any fear in watcher's head. But, damn, it was SO dreadful! Maybe one of the most terrific horror-movies I've ever seen! Strongly recommend for any fan of horror-movies!
And the last of week-end I spent in the country together with my parents. I showed them photos from France and tasted cognac that I bought for dad as well as pineau for mum. On my way back to Moscow I watched the movie called "Kalina Krasnaya" by famous Russian actor, director and writer Vasily Shukshin. Another very strong movie in my collection!
Well, that's pretty huge post is going to be finished =). Good-bye for the moment!
